We are a Ceilidh Dance band, consisting of a drummer--Bobby, fiddler--Jenny, a piano/keyboard player--Mary, Kevin and Frank on guitar and other strings and Fergie and Susan--our ceilidh dance callers.
Bobby, on drums, gives our band a wonderfully strong dance rhythm. Our fiddlers have a great traditional Celtic sound, and backed up by our dynamic pianist, you can't help but start dancing. Fergie, our dance caller is a wonderful dancer with an understandable Glaswegian accent. Together, we all really love the Scottish and Irish Country, Ceilidh, and Cape Breton traditional music and dance.
In case you were wondering, Madra Confach is Gaelic for "mad dogs". One of the early band members, many years ago, came up with the name, and we've kept it all these years. We're a bit wild, but not quite mad.
